Yoga in Tahko – weekly classes, private sessions and yoga experiences for groups

At Tahko Flow Lab, yoga is not about knowing the right poses or performing perfectly. Every practice can look a little different depending on your body, your day and how you feel. Some days you may want to challenge yourself; on others, doing less is exactly what you need.
You can join our weekly classes on your own or with a friend, while private sessions are tailored to the wishes and needs of your group.

Class descriptions

Flow Yoga

A dynamic and flowing yoga practice where each pose moves seamlessly into the next in rhythm with the breath. The class builds energy, strength and mobility while helping you become fully immersed in movement and breathing.

The practice is suitable for both beginners and those with previous yoga experience, with different options offered for the poses when needed. Each class begins by settling into the practice with a short breathing exercise and ends with a final relaxation.

Yin Yoga

A calm, deeply stretching practice where poses are held for several minutes at a time. Yin Yoga focuses especially on the body’s connective tissues and fascia, supporting mobility and recovery.

The class offers a counterbalance to a more active lifestyle and is suitable for anyone looking for a slower, restorative practice. Each class begins by settling into the practice with a short breathing exercise and ends with a final relaxation.

No previous yoga experience is required.

Forest Yoga

Forest Yoga combines a calm yoga practice with the nature of Tahko. The class begins with a quiet sensory walk, for example to Huutavanholma, followed by a breathing exercise, a gentle yoga flow and a final relaxation.

On the way back, you can take a moment to notice how your body and mind feel after the practice and what you would like to take with you from the experience. You can walk in silence or share the experience with a friend.

The practice takes place outdoors and is adapted to the weather conditions and the needs of the group. No previous yoga experience is required.

Bubbles & Yoga

A relaxed and joyful yoga experience combining gentle movement with a little sparkling fun. There is no need to aim for perfect poses – the focus is on spending time together, moving and enjoying the moment.

Bubbles & Yoga is especially well suited to bachelorette parties, birthdays, groups of friends and other celebrations. If you wish, the session can also include a shared moment of gratitude for the guest of honour or the bride-to-be.

Drinks are not included in the price of the session. For classes held at Break Sokos Hotel Tahko, drinks are purchased from the hotel. For sessions held at the customer’s own venue, you may bring your own drinks.

Sauna Yoga

Sauna Yoga is a gentle and calming yoga practice performed while seated on the sauna benches at a comfortable temperature of around 40–50°C. Slow, mindful movements help mobilise and open the body, while the gentle warmth of the sauna makes the practice especially enjoyable after an active day outdoors or on the slopes.

The practice is also suitable for first-timers and requires no previous yoga experience. It is easy to combine Sauna Yoga with a spa visit or as part of your group’s shared programme in Tahko.

Private Sauna Yoga sessions can be arranged at different locations in the Tahko area. The price depends on the location and group size.

All classes are suitable for all levels and are guided in a clear, safe and gentle way.

Eriika Wathen

Yoga teacher - Eriika Wathen

Yoga has been part of my life for almost 25 years

My yoga journey truly began in 2003, when I was living in Sweden. My mother had already been teaching yoga for years and had been encouraging me to try it for a long time, partly as a way to help manage my scoliosis.

In Sweden, I eventually found yoga for myself – with my mother’s encouragement still in the back of my mind – and at first I approached it from a very physical perspective. I quickly noticed how good the practice felt in my body and how much it also helped me relax. That was the beginning of a journey that has continued ever since.

Later, while living in Australia, my own practice also led me to study to become a yoga teacher. I qualified as a Hatha and Yin Yoga teacher and have been teaching yoga since 2015. (500h Hatha Yoga Teacher Training & 100h Yin Yoga Teacher Training.)

Over the years, yoga has taught me a great deal about my body and about myself. Perhaps the biggest change, however, is that yoga has gradually moved beyond the mat and become part of my life. In recent years, my practice has also become increasingly about treating myself and what I do with more kindness. I do not always need to do more, do better or practise for longer.

As a mother of three, my own practice does not always fit into a full hour on a yoga mat – and sometimes it does not make it onto the mat at all. There are days when yoga does not happen. Often, those are exactly the days when I realise I probably needed it most to cope with everyday life and the occasional circus that comes with it.

That is why I have also learned to let go of the idea of what a yoga practice is supposed to look like. Sometimes it is a full hour on the mat; sometimes it is just a few movements or a few conscious breaths. Sometimes it is carving perfect turns on a snowboard in rhythm with my breathing, or going for a walk or bike ride in the forest. Sometimes it is being fully present with my child, and sometimes it is lying on my back on the living-room floor while the children balance on the soles of my feet, acro-yoga style.

Yoga has become something I carry with me beyond the mat – and that is also at the heart of how I teach. To me, yoga is not about performance or achieving perfect poses. What matters more is the connection between movement and breath, listening to your own body, and allowing the practice to look different for different people and on different days.

Some days, everything flows. Your breath feels easy, your body feels strong, light and capable, and the practice seems to come naturally. Other days, you wobble, struggle with a pose or find that something simply doesn’t work the way you want it to. You learn to breathe, adjust, try again – or sometimes let it go.

Just like in life.
